We’re thinking family suites with kid-specific rooms are the luxury-hotel wave of the future, and our little reviewer rides in on his banana boat to test out his own private bunk beds and mega-shower. Check out our #TLKids visit to SO Sofitel Hua Hin!
These days, lots of hotels have kids’ tents in their rooms, but how many have you seen with an entire fortress of kiddo solitude? SO Sofitel, erstwhile known as a cool luxury lifestyle brand for design-focused adults, has in their Hua Hin property taken a different tack, going child-forward full-steam-ahead in a way that’s super cute, not kitsch.
There’s an almost-psychedelic mini-golf course, an obstacle course in a pool, banana boats, loads of well-designed play places, a kids’ club where slime-making is an activity of choice… But best of all, there are the rooms and suites specially designed for children and families, with colorful bunk beds in veranda nooks or their own private rooms, where boys and girls really can be kings and queens of the castle.
We asked Alexander Forgan to take his parents a couple of hours south of Bangkok to Hua Hin, to test out the SO Sofitel offerings for our T+L Kids series. Watch his review here – and try not to long for a bunk-bed suite of your own.
