It was February 15, 2019, when the first Vande Bharat Express train, originally known as Train 18, was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Till now, 34 semi-high-speed trains have been inaugurated. Other than decreasing the travel time between cities, these are letting passengers soak in the country’s beauty through its massive glass windows. Undoubtedly, Vande Bharat Express has been a great success.
PM Modi, in his speech on August 15, 2021, mentioned that 75 Vande Bharat trains will be launched during the 75 weeks of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence in an attempt to make every nook and corner of the country accessible through the semi-high speed trains.
The New Delhi — Kanpur — Allahabad — Varanasi route hosted the first Express train and to celebrate its four-year-anniversary in 2023, the Ministry Of Railways had even shared a video talking about the trains launched till then and how these are taking the already world-renowned railway system of India a notch higher.
