Mizoram, located between the international boundary (along Myanmar and Bangladesh) and the “Inner Line” of India, is home to a primarily tribal population. Indian citizens travelling from outside the state are required to obtain the Inner Line Permit (ILP), an official travel document, to enter the “protected” state.

Tourists can generate the ILP from the state government’s online platform and keep it ready before heading to Mizoram. The ILP is valid for seven days and can be renewed upon expiration. Alternatively, you can obtain it offline from the Liaison Officer, Government of Mizoram. Liaison Officers are available in Kolkata, Guwahati, New Delhi, Silchar, and Shillong.
