Royal Caribbean might be known as a family-friendly cruise line, but its latest offering is all for adults. In January 2024, Royal Caribbean will open an adults-only beach club on its private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, in the Bahamas.

Known as Hideaway Beach, this part of the island has a little bit of everything for adults. There’s an acre of white-sand beachfront, plus a pool where a DJ and a swim-up bar will keep the party going all day long. For some quiet time, you can book the poolside Hideaway Cabanas or an exclusive plunge-pool cabana in a VIP section called The Hideout. Hideaway Beach will also have seven bars and restaurants at which you can use your onboard drink package. Highlights include the Slice of Paradise pizza joint and the On the Rocks bar with live music, sports on TV, and pool and shuffleboard.

But Hideaway Beach is only one part of the fun on the 120-acre island. Current attractions — all of which are family-friendly — include the Coco Beach Club, the Oasis Lagoon pool, the Thrill Waterpark, a wave pool, zip lines, a helium balloon ride, and even overwater bungalows to rent for day use. There are also restaurants throughout the island, as well as classic resort sports like volleyball and basketball.

“There are experiences for everyone on a Royal Caribbean vacation, and that’s at the heart of our private island and its popularity,” Michael Bayley, the CEO of Royal Caribbean, said in a statement released to Travel + Leisure. “Whether it’s thrill or chill, family time or time to celebrate, families and friends can create their ‘perfect’ vacation day without compromise, and Hideaway Beach adds to what continues to be an unmatched combination of ways to do just that.”

CocoCay is a stop on many Royal Caribbean cruises that visit the Caribbean and Bahamas. A three-night Bahamas cruise starts at USD 232 (19,276) per person; book your trip at royalcaribbean.com.
