When to visit Masai Mara

Masai Mara can be visited throughout the year, as each season has a different kind of scenic beauty to offer. The Great Migration, which happens between July and October, is one of the most popular seasons to visit, as you can see about 1.5 million wildebeest trekking from Serengeti to the Masai Mara region.

During January and February, lions, zebras and various other wild animals can be spotted roaming freely.  The time between January-March is known as the ‘Lion season’ because the king of the jungle can be spotted around water holes easily due to the scarcity of rain. The ‘Green season’ happens from March to May, and is marked by heavy rains and lush greenery.
