Presenting La Plage du Martinez: A Culinary Oasis On The French Riviera

Step into a world where gastronomy meets artistry at La Plage du Martinez, the brainchild of acclaimed chef Jean Imbert.

Driven by culinary excellence and the captivating world of cinema, chef Jean Imbert realised one of his childhood aspirations by taking over Hotel Martinez’ kitchens by unveiling his passion project, La Plage du Martinez. Coinciding with the beginning of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, this new space is served with a dash of nostalgia and a sprinkle of innovation. With this, Imbert has transformed the coastal haven into a culinary hotspot that sets the stage for an indelible experience that will captivate your senses.

An Artistic Haven

Imbert collaborated with acclaimed graphic designers Violaine and Jéremy to craft every aspect of this place—from the menu to the dishes. Showcasing their artistic synergy, they designed the unique menu by disguising it as a movie poster, where their signatures elegantly adorn the creation.

The menu, too, is just as special. From traditional cuisines to sharing plates, the dishes focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients from local producers. For starters, there are Vitello focaccia, pineapple tomato & local condiments, and Jean’s avocado rocket salad with lemon and grilled octopus veggies skewer.

The menu continues with mouthwatering delights grilled over an open fire, including succulent lamb chops, accompanied by fragrant rosemary baked potatoes. The à la diable fowl adds a fiery kick, while the violin zucchini brings a touch of elegance. Indulge in the irresistible Vivi baisos style stuffed red mullet or riviera sea bream, as enjoyed at SDO. For a sweet ending, savour the nostalgic charm of my grandmother’s cherry clafoutis or indulge in the exquisite pistachio & morello mille-feuille. Delight your palate with the refreshing frosted melon, calisson ice cream, or the indulgent iced tiramisu.

But that’s not all! Adding his signature touch to the decor and furniture is the talented designer Rémi Tessier. He brings a unique flair to the space, envisioning director’s chairs that pay homage to the chef’s admired actors and directors. Icons like Martin Scorsese, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant, and Audrey Hepburn grace the list. Stepping into the dining room and arbored terrace, you’ll be embraced by a breezy, yachting-inspired ambience featuring hues of navy blue reminiscent of the Mediterranean, perfectly complemented by warm terracotta accents. The result? An extraordinary fusion of epicurean finesse and captivating design, promising an unforgettable dining escape on the French Riviera. Be prepared to embark on a sensory journey that transcends the ordinary, leaving you with memories to savour long after the last bite.
