The Great Bath pays homage to Indian cuisine, with a special focus on regional classics.
We Recommend
Appetisers
The seating area at the restaurant encompasses most of the main courtyard of 3102bce and offers a menu that highlights Indian regional cuisine. To start off your meal, the restaurant has rasams and shorbas, chaats and salads, as well as a variety of tandoor-based options, available in both, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The Tamatar Dhaniya Shorba (INR 200++) is the perfect way to start your meal, offering all the goodness of a refreshing soup, without leaving you too full for the main event. Mutton Galouti Kebabs (INR 630++) make for a great meaty pairing, owing to its smoky flavour and melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Main Course
When it comes to ordering mains at The Great Bath, the menu has a variety of North Indian food choices, complete with rice and bread to accompany it. However, the highlight of The Great Bath’s menu happens to be its Bharat Ki Rasoi section, which is a culmination of iconic dishes from across the country. These dishes are carefully curated from across various Indian states and are often synonymous with them, allowing you to indulge in a range of Indian flavours while enjoying all that Goa has to offer. These meals are ideally for one person but can certainly be shared too, provided you get an extra side of rice, bread and a few accompaniments.
Being in Goa, it would be a shame to miss out on treating yourself to some fresh fish — the Travancore Fish (INR 700++) is your best bet. This meal comes complete with a coconut-based fish curry, a side of fluffy rice and bitter gourd crisps, all of which make a hearty meal.
Dessert
In line with the desi theme, The Great Bath offers four desserts to pick from — Gajar ka Halwa (INR 250++) with ice cream, Baked Gur Rasgulla (INR 250++) which is an interesting spin on the Bengali classic, Kesar Pista Kulfi (INR 250++) and Elle Belle, a goan dessert made up of a pancake stuffed with a sweet coconut filling.
While the warm Gajar ka Halwa combined with ice cream made for a delicious end to our meal, you can’t go wrong with any of these options.
Drinks
The Great Bath has an eclectic beverage menu as well, featuring classic cocktails, sangrias, liqueurs and more. However, their Signature Cocktails menu is where the magic is. With 8 handcrafted cocktails to pick from, you can’t go wrong with any of them. For those of you who enjoy whiskey with a bit of a flair, The Masala Library Old Fashioned comes with royal spice-infused whiskey and orange bitters. The drink is smoked as it makes its way to your table, which enhances the flavour. If you prefer gin, The Drunken Botanist is a refreshing option, with a peach, elderflower and bitter tonic base. Light and easy, it’s the kind of drink that’s sure to put you in a great mood.
Our Takeaway
With stunning outdoor and bar seating, The Great Bath caters to all, be it a group dinner, a family outing or even an intimate date. The overall ambience is warm and inviting, owning to 3102bce’s aesthetic and colour palette, which draws inspiration heavily from the Indus Valley civilisation and Vedic times. Seeing the restaurant come alive with string lights and candles adds to the overall vibe, making it the ideal place to enjoy dinner and a few drinks before partying the night away in Goa.
