The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it many new normals. And today as travel restrictions are gradually being lifted, road trips are becoming a rising trend.

One major aspect of a road trip is to stay hydrated throughout the journey, which was earlier an easier task with the freedom to make pit-stops at dainty joints and dhabas on the highway. But, keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation, you may not be able to enjoy this perk as of now

Therefore, we have listed some effective ways you can opt for, to quench your thirst and stay hydrated while on the go.

1. Restrict the intake of dehydrating food

Avoid snacking on packaged food with a high amount of salt and sugar in them as they tend to dehydrate you faster, instead, grab some fresh fruits or nuts.

2. Always carry water from home

It’s better to carry water in sustainable glass bottles with filters; you can also gfor collapsible bottles or purifying Larq bottles, instead of single-use plastic bottles.

3. Be cautious from where you consume water

Refill from reliable purifiers or treat the water with purification tablets, such as chlorine or Iodine tablets, as these are the most efficient ways of killing bacteria and viruses. Iodine is easily available, however, it is not best suited for long-term use, especially for expecting mothers or travellers with underlying health conditions.
