More than 150 million Americans use TikTok, while an estimated 1.6 billion are a part of the social media network worldwide. Some 2.5 billion more are sharing photos and videos on Instagram, too. And that gives companies plenty of data to parse through, including finding out which destinations we should all travel to next.

JeffBet, an online casino and sportsbook operator, analysed data from TikTok and Instagram to determine the top 10 cities across the US, UK, and Canada for the peak winter experience. To come to its conclusion, it looked into which cities had the most hashtag mentions, including tags like #WinterInNewYork and #LondonChristmasMarkets.

After parsing the data, the team found that London is the top choice for winter travellers on the social platform.

The best cities for a winter getaway

“London has been crowned as the city with the best winter experience,” the results, shared with Travel + Leisure, read. “England’s capital has almost 71 million winter-related hashtags on social media. For example, #LondonChristmasMarket has 10.9 million mentions on TikTok, and the ‘Big Smoke’ has countless places to visit, from ‘Borough Market at Christmas’ to ‘Christmas in Covent Garden’.”

New York City came in a close second, with some 69 million hashtag mentions across the two social networks. “New Year’s Eve is the most popular hashtag relating to winter in New York,” the findings revealed, with the tag #NYENewYork boasting some 6.4 million mentions and #NewYorkNYE with 1.3 million.

Third and fourth place went to two more UK destinations, Manchester and Edinburgh, respectively. Manchester came in with 25 million tag mentions, with the highest number mentioning its Christmas Market, and Edinburgh came in with 24.1 million mentions shouting out both general winter activities under #EdinburghWinter and its Christmas Markets with #EdinburghChristmasMarket.

Paris rounded out the top five spots with 21.1 million winter hashtags. “France’s capital city is filled with activities, from drinking authentic Parisian hot chocolate to seeing the world-famous Eiffel Tower while snow falls from the sky,” the findings noted. “New Year’s Eve celebrations are quintessential in Paris, with #ParisNYE having 9.9 million hashtags and #NYEParis having 2.2 million hashtags on TikTok.”

As for the rest of the top 10, the sixth place spot went to Vienna, Austria, with 12,881,781 mentions, followed by Berlin, Germany, with a close 12,839,066, Belfast, Northern Ireland, with 8,517,033, Vancouver, Canada, with 7,504,319, and Krakow, Poland in the tenth spot with 7,069,802 mentions.

The highlight is the Bee Sting, made with parmesan, Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and their special honey sauce, and topped with some Calabrian chillies to balance that sweetness. Don’t worry, the chillies are from America, so it won’t be that spicy.

Fontina and parmesan cheese are stuffed inside shiitake mushrooms, baked to perfection, and then poured on top is marinara wine sauce and a garnish of garlic and herbs. It’s one of those dishes that everyone on the table will try, and you’ll find each component coming together harmoniously. Note that it’s quite heavy from the cheese, so share with some company.

California Omelette

Some Southern comfort never hurt anyone, especially not when served with some heartwarming baked potatoes and toast. The California Omelette contains mushrooms, green onion, tomato, garlic, and shallots, along with some cheddar and Swiss cheese, and a generous dollop of sour cream. Topped with two slices of avocado, it’s a burst of flavour perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Chicken Madeira

The Chicken Madeira is quite a unique dish that involves an ingredient such as the star: Madeira. Madeira is a wine created in the Portugal region of the same name, with earthy notes of hazelnut, coffee, and burnt caramel. Oh yes, The Cheesecake Factory also does Japanese, and the Miso Salmon is just what you need to satisfy the cravings you didn’t know you had before. The salmon is marinated with miso, put atop white rice, and served with snow peas and delicious miso sauce. Plus, the portion allocated is huge, so one dish will keep you full until dessert.

Monte Cristo Sandwich

In Thailand, we’d argue that the Monte Cristo isn’t as widespread as its sister, the Croque Monsieur. The egg-dipped-then-deep-fried crunchy French toast is stuffed with bacon, grilled ham, scrambled eggs, and melted Swiss cheese. They then dust some powdered sugar on top of this beautiful creation, and serve it with strawberry preserves to dip in. It’s one of the more underrated dishes in their brunch menu. It wouldn’t be an American diner without a banging cheeseburger. The Americana Cheeseburger has both American and cheddar cheese on its beef patty, with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, pickles, their secret sauce, and some crunchy potato chips on top. The cheeseburgers at The Cheesecake Factory Thailand all use Angus beef and are served with a choice of French fries or green salad.

Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake

If you’re hesitant to pay the THB 350+ (USD 9.93) price tag for a slice of cheesecake, this is the one that is so worth the money. The Cheesecake Factory’s collab with Godiva will transport you to chocolate heaven, with the chocolate cheesecake topped with chocolate mousse and a piece of Godiva chocolate. The creation is also completely flourless.

 Mango Key Lime Cheesecake

The natural sweetness of mango, balanced with the acidity of key lime — that’s the idea behind the mango key lime cheesecake. Those delicious, fluffy layers are put on top of a vanilla coconut macaroon crust and then topped with mango mousse. It’s the perfect dessert for the hot climate. Note that the portions are huge, so bring a friend.

Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake

It’s the one that started it all: the original Cheesecake Factory cheesecake that has remained their most popular edition for almost 40 years. Squid Game: The Challenge was filmed at Wharf Studios in London over the course of 16 days.

A total of six interconnected sound stages were taken up by production to allow players to live inside a “completely immersive world”.

The only point of the show where filming took place elsewhere was during the Red Light, Green Light game.

Red Light, Green Light was filmed at Cardington Studios in Bedford, Europe’s largest indoor space. At over 100,000 square feet, the space was previously used to build airships and zeppelins in the 1920s and ’30s.

A lot of work went into making the competition look just as it did in the drama series, including items that were CGI’d into the original drama.

For example, the piggy bank that the players see fills up with money every time a contestant is eliminated was created for the very first time for Squid Game: The Challenge.

YoonA or Im Yoon-ah is a member of the girl group, Girls’ Generation. They are one of the best-selling artists in South Korea and one of the most popular girl groups. YoonA was cast through an Open Casting Audition and spent five years training before her debut.

Besides her music career, YoonA also ventured into acting, receiving further public attention. She starred in K-dramas such as Love Rain, The K2, The King in Love, and Big Mouth. Lartisien, an agency offering bespoke travel experiences, unveiled its list of the top 10 best cities in the world for luxury shopping. To come to its conclusion, the editors at Lartisien crunched the numbers on who had the most designer stores across “cities with prestigious reputations.” After parsing the data, it ranked Tokyo as No. 1.

Tokyo is the best destination for luxury shopping

“Tokyo’s fashion reputation — spurred by the inspiring street style and Rakuten Fashion Week — constantly attracts shopping lovers to the city,” the team wrote in the findings. “According to our research, Tokyo is the best city in the world for luxury shopping. We found that Japan’s capital had 217 designer stores — the most in our analysis — with Armani having the biggest presence.”

The findings noted that many of the city’s high-end designer shops reside in Ginza (fitting, as the name “Ginza” means “silver mint” in Japanese), including the must-see seven-floor Louis Vuitton and the upmarket shopping complex, Ginza Six.

As for the second-best city for shopping, that honour went to Hong Kong, which Lartisien noted has 211 designer stores. “The choice is plentiful for shoppers in Hong Kong, from the Landmark and Elements malls to the many flagship stores,” it wrote, adding that while the city doesn’t have as many shops as Tokyo, it is home to the highest number of “ultra-high-net-worth individuals” on Earth, who are more than happy to shell out big bucks for designer duds.

The newest mall in Bangkok may have just opened its doors last week but it already has a festive market you could visit—that is, if you can handle the crowds. Located in the middle of the ground floor, EmSphere’s market boasts a variety of things for you to enjoy from drinks to food. There are also some seats and tables for you to enjoy your delicacies there and then, but again, it’s going to be a bit of a challenge with the crowds. There’s no definite date as to when this market will end but it will probably be around January, so pay a visit soon.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok’s Longtail by the River is offering a sumptuous festive spread that includes grilled seafood, turkey roulade, and sweet delightful desserts.
