With an airport this indulgent, you might not want to leave Hamad International Airport. No wonder they received World’s Best Airport Shopping at this year’s SKYTRAX Airport Awards
WITH THE ARRIVAL OF 40 new stores and a refreshed and enhanced range of dining options, the user experience for travelers checking in and touching down at Hamad International Airport (DOH) has been completely revolutionized.
The enhanced retail and F&B options in the North Plaza were born out of the recent 125,000 sqm expansion of the airport – enabling the seamless movement of over 58 million passengers per year. It’s just one of nine improvements to the airport catalyzed by the 2022 World Cup and the need for increased capacity to meet continued customer growth in Doha.
Take Off in Style
The thrill of finding unique items that channel your personal style and character is hard to beat, and if you can snap them up tax-free, it’s even better.
The upgraded range of luxury and designer stores at Hamad International Airport includes some incredible firsts, such as the only airport-located Thom Browne store, the largest Ray Ban outlet inside an airport, and for football fans, the world’s first and only FIFA store.
The list of firsts goes on and on. Hamad International Airport is now the first place to host not one but two Louis Vuitton stores in the same terminal. At the same time, Ray Ban has chosen the airport as its first store in Qatar and the site of the brand’s largest travel hub location.
If that is not enough, travelers will also find the world’s first two-story Fendi store, Giorgio Armani, the world’s first shop from the legendary design house to feature its entire range at an airport, and the only Dior location in the country to stock menswear and accessories.
From Fine Dining to Comfort Food
With the transformation of the airport’s restaurants and cafes, Hamad International Airport could now be easily described as a foodie destination on its own. Like the new retail choices, the upgrades to the airport’s F&B also feature some very exciting world firsts.
Fusing fashion and food in the North Plaza, many big-name designer labels have opened airport cafes and restaurants for the first time at Hamad International Airport.
If you’re in the mood for Italian coffee in the rarefied atmosphere of an elite first-world fashion house, visit the airport’s Fendi Café, currently the only of the brand’s chic coffee shops located in an airport.
Ralph Lauren also unveils its inaugural airport branch of Ralph Coffee inside the airport’s North Plaza.
Family Favorites
Chef, media sensation, and king of off-color remarks, Gordon Ramsay touches down at the airport with two outlets, Gordon Ramsay Burger and Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza, both making their airport debut as part of the terminal extension.
If you fancy something more family oriented or want to grab a burger and go, the airport hosts favorites like Burger King, KFC, and Costa Coffee for familiar and cozy comfort food. After your meal, stroll over to Oreo Café or Snowflake Luxury Gelato for an indulgent treat.
